West Dunbartonshire
This winch house has some impressive machinery to draw up the Maid of the Loch onto the slipway. Nearby is a small visitor centre with a shop and museum. The ship was saved from sinking in 1995 and since then our community of volunteers has spent thousands of hours bringing her back to life.
The winch house and small museum / shop will be open to visitors for free as part of the Doors Open Day programme.
Guided Tours of the ship and slipway are recommended, but these will require a fee and booking. Hard hats are provided. This is not part of the Doors Open Days programme.
