West Dunbartonshire
This attractive church proudly acknowledges the Clydebank Blitz and the way the community has re-established itself after the destruction. The memorial side chapel has with tapestries and a stained glass window by Eilidh Keith 1997, is dedicated to the victims. The bell from 1933 is one of few remaining in this former industrial community of Scotland. The Luftwaffe attacked nearby military targets including the John Brown shipyard and the Singer sewing machine factory leaving many dead and around 50,000 homeless.
For Doors Open Days, the church will be welcoming visitors and will discuss the memorials to those who suffered during the Blitz.
