Fallago Rig Wind Farm
Scottish Borders
Commissioned in May 2013 and based in the Lammermuir Hills in Berwickshire, Fallago Rig is made up of 48 turbines. The tip height of each turbine reaches 110-125 metres. The Wind Farm has a generating capacity of 144MW. That is enough to power up to 86,000 homes. More than 350 jobs were created during its construction.
The Fallago Environment Fund has donated over £1.4 million to 125 local and regional projects across the Scottish Borders. These include: the restoration of iconic Borders landmarks, museums and attractions; support for youth work; education and environmental initiatives; mountain bike trails; and community spaces.
EDF Renewables UK is delighted to invite you to visit Fallago Rig wind farm for Doors Open Days 2023. During your visit you will have the opportunity to meet the onsite EDF Renewables technical team and find out how the 48 wind turbines turn the wind into power used in our homes and businesses. You will have the opportunity to go inside a turbine and see our control room.
Free transport to the site will be provided and our team will be on hand to show you round and answer your questions. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. Please bring suitable clothing for an outdoor event at a wind farm.
