Coats Paisley an outstanding Gothic revival former church formerly known as Thomas Coats Memorial Baptist Church. It’s been a dominant feature of the Paisley skyline for over 100 years with its striking crown steeple rising to 60 metres above ground. Coats Paisley now operates as a unique Scottish wedding and events venue.
Thomas Coats Memorial Church was opened in 1894 as a tribute to Thomas Coats, of the thread mill business around which Paisley was built and thrived. the workmanship of the building begins even as you approach and look up at its height, the many steps leading up to the thick doors at the entrance, the pointed Gothic arches and the tower. There are stunning carvings in many areas and beautiful tiles on the floor. Don't miss the Royal Doulton toilets or the hand stencil work in the vestries.
