In Person
The Church and Churchyard occupy a very old religious site in Kilbarchan with references back to 1175. The current church dates back in part to the 1600s.
A tour around the churchyard pointing out the various building phases of the existing church (currently undergoing renovation), identifying an old knight's tombstone possibly dating from the 1200s, the ruins of St Catherine's Chapel dating from 1401, old doorways covered over and only recently discovered (probably 1600s), masons' marks, an old Marian mark, an old 1584 headstone (again only recently discovered) and the grave of Habbie Simson, the famous piper of Kilbarchan.
