Founded in 1696 and tracing its origins back to a twelfth century grammar school established by Dunfermline Abbey , Perth Academy is potentially the oldest school in Scotland. It boasts notable former pupils including AK Bell and William Soutar. The present site was built in 1930 and designed by Reid & Forbes.
Visitors will be treated to guided tours of the building by current pupils and will have the chance to see the work of the 'Flowers of the Forest' WW1 memorial group.
Disabled access throughout but main entrance has 6 steps. Staff will be able to provide access to side-door with ramp if accompanying visitor makes themselves known at reception.
