Nucleus: The Nuclear and Caithness Archives are based at Wick Airport and houses the historical archives of the county of Caithness which date from the 1469 to the present day and consist of documents in different formats including charters, minute books, correspondence, maps, photographs and plans. These historic collections are available to members of the public for family and local history research.
For Doors Open Days Nucleus will have an exhibition in their Community Room relating to the theme of Routes, Networks and Connections, a display of historic recorded in their search room, and bookable tours to the restricted areas of the building.
Guided Tours
Pre-booked tours of the conservation studio and the Caithness Archive repository will be offered at specific times throughout the day – 11:00, 12:30, and 14:00.
