North Coast Visitor Centre
Highland – Caithness & Sutherland
In Person
2024 Theme
The North Coast Visitor Centre is a museum run by Highlife Highland. There are centuries of Caithness history and culture to be explored in our museum exhibitions. The centre has a cafe, art gallery, shop and much more.
For Doors Open Days, we aim to create a display focusing on the connection between Caithness and the world through local industry and commerce. Drawing from sources such as Caithness Flagstone, Fishing and Caithness Glass, as well as from potential Archaeological sources. This links to the Doors Open Days 2024 theme "Heritage of Routes, Networks and Connections" by showing how local industry has stretched its exports across both the country and the world, both in the recent and far past.
