Dunbeath Icehouse and Salmon Bothy

Come along and visit the Dunbeath Icehouse, constructed around 1861-65, the building has a barrel-vaulted ceiling that is covered with a layer of earth and turf for extra insulation. The Ice was poured in through the chute opening of the ceiling.
The Salmon Bothy built in the 1830’s, houses bunk beds and foreman's quarters. Step back in time and see how the workers lived and slept.
