Richard Murphy’s own house was completed in 2015 and has since won many awards, not least the RIBA Channel 4 “UK House of the Year” award in 2016. It is an essay in how to make a creative contribution to a historic context, how to be spatially ingenious on a very small site, how to be energy efficient and change with the seasons as well as display Richard Murphy’s many architectural influences absorbed over a life time of practice.
Visitors will be admitted in groups of six at a time and be guided around the house. A written guide will also be available.
