Edinburgh
Our Marine depot is an operational bus garage, with its own Engineering department for bus maintenance. Our depot is one of eight operational locations in the Lothian Group, which provides a safe, reliable and accessible public transport service to over two million customers every week.
The building was opened in December 1962 and is located on Marine Gardens, formerly a Greyhound Racing Track. Today, our Marine depot is home to approximately 160 buses and over 400 staff. Marine was used as the location for Riversea Buses, a fictional bus company in the CBeebies programme Me too!
We will open our doors for the public to have a walkaround our operational bus garage. We will have various vehicles on display, including vehicles from Lothian Country and East Coast Buses. Our Charity of Choice Bus will also feature with a team from our current Charity of Choice VOCAL.
To enhance the visitor experience, we will have a number of games and activities on offer too, including but not exhaustive of, bouncy castles, face painting and garage displays.
Food and refreshments will be on offer from our Lothian catering staff and we will have a selection of items available for purchase at our Lothian shop stall, where visitors can purchase the latest Lothian merchandise.
