Charity to renovate and reopen Gracemount Mansion as a community hub. Meanwhile activities and events are currently offered in grounds and gardens to enhance the wellbeing of local community.

Part of the Gracemount Mansion building will be open to the public for the first time in years. We will share plans for renovation and reopening with the public

Tours will be given on demand throughout the day 11am-3pm.

 

2024 Theme - Heritage of Routes, Networks and Connections

We will highlight the culinary heritage of Gracemount Mansion. In particular we will show the  important role that the Mansion and its farmland has played in the culinary landscape of the local area and the city of Edinburgh. We will use the Open Doors as an opportunity to showcase the recent research output that we have in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh Architectural History and Heritage dept. This focusses on the history of the Mansion and local farmland, and this material will be available for the public to read and to take away.
