Edinburgh
The Edinburgh Trades Fund houses a collection of artefacts pertaining to the ancient Incorporated Trades of Edinburgh. The collection provides a unique insight into the establishment, organisation and importance of the Incorporated Trades in the economic and social life of Edinburgh. This is especially true of the period when the trades had a major role in the governance of the city from the 15th to the early 19th centuries. There are several unique historical treasures intimately concerned with the history of the city, the most important being the Blue Blanket.
Take the opportunity to walk through our building learning about our collection from the volunteer guides and display boards.
