Edinburgh Open Workshop
Edinburgh
Edinburgh Open Workshop is a not-for-profit, social enterprise created for the Edinburgh community to have a place to make and get messy. We are built on a pay-as-you-go model – offering membership-based access to a fully equipped wood, metal, paint, and textiles workshop. We also have long term resident maker space, art studios, along with a creative learning and outreach program of classes and workshops. Come and learn about the warehouse’s current community usage and the building's heritage.
This year we are hosting free tours on the hour from 11.00 to 15.00. They are walk-in, so no need to book. We are also running woodworking (Make Your Own Tealight) and welding (Make Your Own Name Plate / Keychain) workshops. This is the perfect opportunity to get involved in some making, test your hand at a new skill and learn about how you can use Edinburgh Open Workshop. Lastly we will host a Resident Makers exhibition – showcasing our talented Edinburgh Open Workshop based makers, including furniture design, textiles and upholstery.
