Deaf Action is the last remaining deaf centre in Scotland. Deaf Action is the oldest charity for the deaf in the world, we have been in this building since 1889. The original purpose of the building was to be an accessible church for the deaf community where deaf people can come together and practice their religion. Since then, it has evolved into Deaf Action, a charity organisation with a wide spectrum of services and community events covering the annual Edinburgh Deaf Festival to the provision of care at home services.
