Edinburgh
This is a historic folly built by the then landowner in 1871 the centenary of Sir Walter Scott's birth. It is built on the summit of the Hill from stone quarried from the Hill. It is about 20m high with a viewing platform which is just above the trees. It commands magnificent views of the city centre, the Firth of Forth, the Fife coast, and the Pentland Hills. On clear days the Bass Rock and Isle of May can be seen to the east and the bridges, the Ochills and the Trossachs to the west. It is situated in the woodland of Corstorphine Hill Local Nature Reserve, with many woodland paths to explore.
Short walking tours of the tower and surrounding woodland on Corstorphine Hill will take place at 14.15, 14.45, 15.15.

Access up a steep drive about 400m not suitable for those with mobility problems. None of the above accessibility aids are available.
