Built to a design by renowned Edinburgh architect Sydney Mitchell originally as a United Free Church (now Church of Scotland), the foundation stone was laid in 1904 and the building opened for worship in 1905. An excellent “A” listed example of Arts & Crafts design, it has a very elegant spire and bell tower and unique stenciled interior. Stained glass windows by Margaret Chilton and Marjorie Kemp 1924-50. Visitors will be able to see original photographs of the building alongside architectural drawings. Tea, Coffee and Church Craft stall will be available for visitors. There will also be a special activity for children on the day.
