East Fife
“Monimail Tower Project” is a small charity caring for a beautiful walled garden and orchard set around a mediaeval tower house in sunny Fife. The 13thC tower was a former residence of the Archbishops of St Andrews and comprises three stories over a basement, which was later altered to form an ice-house.
There is a small exhibition in the tower about its history and after visiting and enjoying the view from the roof you can take a walk around the walled orchard, garden and woods to see a range of ancient trees.
These are self-guided activities, but charity members will be in the venue to assist and answer your questions.
