Caldwell Halls

New

8 September 2024 (12:00 - 17:00)

East Dunbartonshire

The Caldwell Halls Trust took over the management of the halls in 2010, saving it from closure. Originally a village school, the hall's history dates back to 1813, with the two-story section and the Main Hall added in the 19th century. The Caldwell Halls remains a village landmark and continues to be the hub of village life today.

This Doors Open Days event is a joint effort between the Caldwell Halls Trust and Torrance & Baldernock Heritage Group, a well-rooted community organisation known for its well-attended monthly talks. This event will feature a film show depicting the history of Torrance and Baldernock, and attendees are encouraged to bring photos and memories of the Caldwell Halls and the wider Torrance and Baldernock communities past and present. During the event, the Main Hall and entrance foyer will be open to the public, and visitors are welcome to explore the upstairs and back garden.
