DIWC was established in 1969 as an urban aid project to support new immigrants to Dundee to integrate with the existing community. Today we have the same purpose, providing opportunities for women, particularly from BME communities to engage, socialise, learn and become economically active.
For Doors Open Days there will be storytelling and a celebration of Dundee International Womens Centre (DWIC) history and the centre turning 55 years old this year. We will showcase the diverse cultures represented at the centre with various taster foods being available along with information on different countries and cultures.
This event will be a chance to share cultural experiences and learn more about what heritage means in different communities.
