We are a private Museum manned by over 50 volunteers. We have been going since 1978 in the former Church of St. John’s a ‘B’ listed building, which makes for an interesting visit. Also, we run an Outreach programme reaching out to the local school’s and groups with talks and demonstrations of artefacts.
For Doors Open Days there will be a special Victorian Magic Lantern Show. Magic Lanterns were developed over centuries and became popular in Victorian times. They were very widely used in education, science and entertainment. They preceded slide projectors and visual media.
