Central Fife
Methil Heritage Centre contains displays capturing the history of Methil and surrounding area, from prehistoric times to the present day.
Our current exhibitions cover "Levenmouth Lives" and the "1984-5 Miners' Strike". There will be a history talk on the miners' strike which is a bookable event through the link on this page.
We are piloting a series of events and activities to attract a wide range of visitors. This will include heritage talks, displays by local groups, workshops for young people and Bookbug storytelling sessions for pre-school age children and their families.
The Centre maintains an extensive archive which is available for enquiries and research, and there will be an activity table for the youngsters with colouring sheets, puzzles and games.
Keep checking our site for more details as they’re announced! Methil Heritage Centre reopened in April 2024 supported by Fife Council’s Levenmouth Area Committee Community Renewal fund, OnFife and Creative Scotland.
