Volunteers at the FHR are pleased to announce that for the first time since 2019 they will once more be taking part in Doors Open Days.

The Fife Heritage Railway is located in Leven and a mighty team of people have been building it from the ground up since 2003 on the grounds of the original East Neuk railway and Kirkland Yard.

On this September weekend we will be opening up as much of the site as we can so that you will have the chance to see behind the scenes and get to know just how challenging it can be to keep the place on track.

There will be a mix of diesel and steam locomotives and rolling stock on display, both indoors and outdoors. As well as that you’ll also get the chance to be among some of our first visitors to step onboard our ex Network Rail electric multiple unit “313121” which was used for testing signals on the mainlines of England, this is one of only two class 313s left in existence.

The Fife Heritage Railway will be open from 11:00 to 16:00 on both of these dates, parking is available on site but there will also be a vintage shuttle bus running from the near by new Cameron Bridge train station where free parking is also available, the bus will also be an option of travel for those coming to the event by train from Edinburgh and other areas of Fife.

We look forward to welcoming you to this event, for more information check out our Facebook page and website using the links on this page.
