Guided Walk led by Ken Nairn. We visit the town hall cells, looking at justice in the 19th century. From there we pass the site of the town’s first library, ending up at the Auld Kirk of Ayr, site of a Franciscan friary from the mid-15th century and one of only two churches built by Oliver Cromwell in Scotland. There we discuss the town’s trade with Europe and Ireland. Finally we sit around the 400 year old council table where debates and discussions would have taken place from Darien to the Young Pretender.

Guided walk begins at 2:30pm from the Cutty-Sark Centre.
