Holmston Cemetery: D-Day and Beyond.
There are many Commonwealth War Graves, including those of a crew and passengers (including a VIP) who died in an aeroplane crash at Whitletts.
The tour led by CWGC guide Ken Nairn, will consider events from 1938, looking at casualties and events that took place each year until September 1944.
We start with a pilot who fought the Nazis whilst flying with four separate air forces, and end with a casualty of the D-Day operation. The walk focuses on the role that the town played in many of these events.
The walk begins from Holmston Cemetery Gates at 2:30pm.
