The Broadway Cinema opened on 29th April 1935, and today survives as one of Scotland’s greatest remaining examples of an Art Deco golden age cinema.
Now in community ownership with Friends of the Broadway Prestwick, the Broadway is about to be brought back to life. The cinema will be fully restored with heritage preservation at the forefront of the project’s development. For now, many areas of the building remain virtually untouched since the cinema closed in 1976, with remarkable original features still remaining.
For Doors Open Days there will be a range of memorabilia on display in the foyer and the opportunity to experience the evocative atmosphere of the golden age of cinema preserved in 2024.

Wheelchair access only to the front of the foyer. The rest of the building is currently inaccessible.
