Meffan Museum & Art Gallery
Angus
Behind the Scenes: The World Cultures Store.
Join the ANGUSalive Museums & Galleries team to learn more about our World Cultures Collection, exploring objects from Africa, Asia and Oceania collected for the people of Angus over the last 200 years. The team will also share information about how we are engaging with the national conversation around the legacies of Empire in our collections and the growing movement to decolonise museum spaces.
The Meffan Museum & Art Gallery was opened in 1898 having been funded by Miss Jane Meffan in memory of her father William who was a former Provost of the town. The present day museum offers the opportunity to explore the stories of the local area whilst the newly renovated museum’s art gallery spaces showcase the work of local, national, and internationally renowned artists.
