Mill of Benholm

This is a category A Listed waterwheel meal mill museum recently taken into the ownership by the community organisation, Mill of Benholm Enterprise.

Mill of Benholm was central to the rural network, being a gathering place for farmers, crofters and locals. It sits at the junction of the coastal paths and the old coach road on the Benholm Conservation Hamlet.

During Doors Open Day, visitors can explore the grounds surrounding the mill and discover how water from the burn is directed into the mill pond, from where it turns the mill wheel, which works each of the machines required to process the oatmeal. An experience not to be missed, a truly wonderful and educational venue with activities available for children.
