Glen Tanar Walled Garden
Aberdeenshire
Glen Tanar Walled Garden is looked after by The Seed Box, which provides horticultural training and outdoor therapy to adults with additional support needs. Gardening activities are carried out within the walled garden, supporting workers to develop employability skills, confidence and independence.
The garden comprises a curved herbaceous border, orchard, vegetable beds, cut flower beds, fruit cage, lean to greenhouses and potting shed set within substantial stone walls. The various sections are divided by paths and hedges providing a different view at every turn.
Come along and explore the many wonders of Glen Tanar Walled Garden, round every corner lies a world of beauty, nature and mystery that has provided fruit and vegetables for the landowners for many years. Records can be viewed of the planted and harvested crops as well as planting diagrams of the original layout.
On Doors Open Days there will be a selection of plants available to purchase along with refreshments and a children’s scavenger hunt.
