Live Life Aberdeenshire Libraries facility is a purpose-built headquarters with the local public library on site. The building is the central distribution point for the circulation of books and resources to the 32 libraries across Aberdeenshire. This working warehouse is the hub of the service, also providing resources to primary and academy schools, HMP Grampian, Care Homes, and to our Doorstep Delivery customers.

Headquarters is also home to Live Life Aberdeenshire’s Local Studies centre which has a wealth of resources available to those with an interest in exploring their local and community heritage, including a collection of local themed books, newspapers, photographs, maps, and many resources to support genealogy research.

Over the weekend an excellent opportunity will be made available to purchase stock withdrawn from the catalogue, both non-fiction and fiction. There will be print books, audio books and CDs, so come along and grab a bargain. Drop-in anytime between 10am and 4pm.

In addition to the book sale, library headquarters will also be offering the following activities:

Bookbug Sessions: This activity is for Early Years age group. Event times: 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm, 2.30pm (30-minute sessions, booking required)

Library Tours: Find out what happens behind the scenes at library headquarters and how we distribute our books across Aberdeenshire. Event times: 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm, 2.30pm (45-minute sessions, booking required)

Digital Library Demonstrations and Local Studies drop-ins: Drop-ins will be running throughout the day.
