Camphill School - Hermann Gross Exhibition
Aberdeen City
Established in 1940, Camphill School Aberdeen’s mission is to transform the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities and very complex additional support needs from across Scotland who require a minimum of 1:1 highly specialist support. Many struggle in mainstream education and other care options, yet thrive at Camphill. Young people are empowered to grow in confidence, independence and reach their fullest potential, leading to happier and healthier lives.
For Doors Open Day visitors will be able to visit an exhibition of some of the work of Hermann Gross - a painter, sculptor, and stained-glass maker. Herman spent part of his life as an artist-in- residence at Camphill School in Aberdeen – a period lasting over two decades. In Camphill he was able to deploy all his skills but at no time during this most fruitful and productive period of his life did he publicly exhibit any of his work to an audience external to Camphill. There will be someone available to answer questions.
