Affiliated trade union branches and organisations. The Council was formed in 1868 and is still going strong, playing an important role as it continues to support workers in these challenging times. The space is also home to Aberdeen Social Centre which is an activist support and networking hub. The aim of the Centre is to build the capacity of and the connections between grassroots community activism.
A range of historical artefacts will be on display, providing a fascinating insight into the history of trade unionism in Aberdeen. In addition, there will be a special Aberdeen Social Centre Radical Café with books on sale and literature from local activist campaigns.
