Digi Doors Open Roundup 3: Halloween Edition!

We have something spooktacular in store for this week's edition of #DigiDoorsOpenRoundup!

The doors may have closed on #DigiDoorsOpen this year, but that doesn't mean that the fun has to stop! Each week we will be creating a themed roundup of our digital resources so that you can enjoy a virtual day out from home.

This week's theme is Halloween! Lament over two star crossed lovers destined to meet a tragic fate, cower in fear from the spectral Red Lady and explore the ghoulish remnants of signage from Glasgow's past. If one door closes and another one opens... please seek help your house is haunted!

This week's venues cover AberdeenshireEdinburgh and Glasgow!

Aberdeenshire

The Wine Tower: Take a virtual tour and learn about the history and folklore surrounding the tower, including a tale of two star crossed lovers from different walks of life. After their secret romance was revealed they both lost their lives to the unforgiving sea. It is said that their spirits still haunt the site.

Warrison Cemetery: Digitally explore this hauntingly beautiful cemetery and see if you can spot any spirits lurking amongst the ivy covered headstones. Perhaps you will spot the Red Lady, who is often sighted in the area surrounding Mary Ann Robertson's statue.

Ghost Signs of Glasgow Walks: If real ghosts aren't your thing can explore Glasgow's City Centre, East End and West End through spectral signage instead! Ghost signs are the fading remains of old hand painted signage and offer an alternative perspective of Glasgow's rich history.
